About me

Having worked as a nurse for 29 years I am searching for a new direction. Currently I’m studying for a postgraduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy. The material I am studying in the course is so interesting that it hardly feels like a chore. I work part-time as a nurse in mental health. I love psychology, I have been interested in it since my late teens. I like to try and understand human behaviours and the human mind.

I also love cooking and baking. I have a thermomix and I would like to share some of the recipes I have created myself as well as share some recipes I have tested and adapted to the Thermomix.  I have enjoyed cooking, especially desserts and baking cakes, biscuits and slices, since I was at primary school. I bought my Thermomix over a year ago, and I don’t cook without it. It does the boring repetitive stuff like stirring and chopping so I can concentrate on creating, experimenting and decorating. I have 3 children and a husband that are more than happy to consume my creations!

I love clothes and shoes, most girls do. I enjoy putting outfits together and I can rarely resist buying new clothes, especially jeans and boots (and jackets, tops, skirts , dresses……. !)  I  have done a personal styling course with Sydney personal stylist Wendy Mak. I enjoy keeping up-to-date with current trends. I wouldn’t say I blindly follow fashion but I follow the trends, look at the European and North American  runways, and take on board styles that I like.

I have many interests and I  wish I didn’t have sooo many, because then I could focus on one or two things.  I love travel,  I travelled to France recently and studied french but please don’t ask me to write anything in french because I have forgotten most of what I learnt. I had fun though and enjoyed the shopping, sights and culinary delights that Paris had to offer.

And I adore wombats, an Australia marsupial, to the point of obsession! I will be posting a few photos of these gorgeous creatures. They have the most adorable shape. But it is their cheeky and stubborn temperament that really appeals to me. And because they are so cute to look at they get away with all sorts of naughtiness. J’adore!

I thought I’d start a blog to expand my horizons and meet people with similar interests. Perhaps it may assist me to choose my future direction also.
